Code & Export

GitHub Export

Push a site's code to a GitHub repository you own, from the builder.

Pushing

  1. Connect GitHub
In Settings → Git. Authorise Webforgia with repository access.
  2. Create a repository on GitHub
An empty one is fine. Webforgia pushes to repositories you already have.
  3. Push from the builder
Press Push to GitHub in the toolbar, pick the repository, and push.

What is written

  • index.html for the home page, and <path>/index.html for each other page, so a static host resolves /about.
  • README.md explaining how to view the site.
  • site-spec.json — the specification the site was rendered from.

Each file is written as a commit. Pushing again updates the same files, so the repository’s history becomes a history of your site.

Which builds can be pushed

Websites and the other Site Spec types — designs, slides, documents, data visualizations. Cross-platform apps are downloaded instead; interactive builds are shared by link.
