Working With Exported Code

Editing, running and shipping what you exported — and how that fits with editing in Webforgia.

Exported code is yours

Change it however you like. Webforgia does not read changes back: edits you make in the files stay in the files, and the next push from Webforgia overwrites the files it writes.

Keep one source of truth. Either keep editing in Webforgia and push, or move to the code and stop pushing — mixing the two means a push can undo your hand edits.

Websites

  • Edit the HTML directly, or regenerate in Webforgia and push again.
  • site-spec.json is a readable record of every section and its copy — handy for moving content elsewhere.

Cross-platform apps

  • Run it with npx expo start, then add the device features your app needs — camera, location, notifications — with Expo’s modules.
  • Build installable apps with Expo’s build service, which needs your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts.
  • Run npx expo install --check before upgrading anything, so dependency versions stay compatible.
